A Walk With Purpose: Hiking & Meditation In The Dolomites
“Solvitur ambulando”—Everything can be solved by walking.
Journey Into The Depths of Your Soul
This 7-day, 6-night experience is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go deep within the landscape of yourself—your hopes, fears, and dreams as you go out into the breathtaking landscape of the Italian Dolomites.
You will not come back the same person who left.
A note from Lou
Whether you’re moving through a life transition, reconnecting with your vision, or feeling an unexplainable longing to learn what the Dolomites have to teach you, this journey will meet you where you are and help you grow into who you’re becoming.
This retreat offers a rare opportunity to go deep into nature while still having the comfort of sleeping in rooms and enjoying gourmet Northern Italian meals.
This is not your typical meditation or hiking retreat. It requires some physical and psychospiritual preparation, and that is exactly what makes this such a potent opportunity for growth. The intention is for the facilitation and group to support the breakthroughs in store.
What is “A Walk with Purpose”
A walk with purpose has two meanings. We are walking hut to hut with a destination and purpose in mind. Yet also, it is an opportunity for you to walk with your purpose—your deepest reason for being.
Whatever you bring to this trip, the mountains will have a lesson to teach.

MEET YOUR GUIDE
Lou Redmond
Lou Redmond is a purpose coach, speaker, meditation guide, and the author of Find Your Truth: A Modern Day Story About Finding Life’s Purpose. For a decade, he has explored what it means to live a soul-infused, purpose-driven life.
His connection to these mountains runs through his family. His nonno and nonna immigrated from Pinzolo, a town at the foothills of the Dolomites. He still has family there and visits often. He and his wife got married in the mountains, which was one of the most incredible, mystical experiences he has ever had.
One of Lou’s first spiritual awakenings came from a moment on a hike by himself. Walking and being outdoors lets us access things we couldn’t access on our own, which is why he believes bringing people out to the land is so powerful.

-
No, no backpacking experience is necessary. You will not have to carry your food; breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.
-
In a 30L Backpack, enough clothes and toiletries for 4 days, and a water bottle. A full gear list will be sent out as we get close to the date.
-
You will arrive with your luggage to Runa Nature Retreat. We will arrange for transportation to take it to Hotel Digon, so it is waiting for you when we return from the mountains.
-
You should be comfortable walking 4 to 6 hours a day with climbs, for four days in a row. We'll share a simple training plan before the trip.
-
Most people do. You'll share a room with another participant at the huts, and you'll have met the group on the preparation calls before we arrive.
-
Rooms at the mountain huts are shared, and that is part of what makes this journey possible. Space this deep in the Dolomites is rare and limited, and many huts offer only dormitory bunks. On our route you will share a room with one or a few others, not a dorm, with your own private bathroom, bed linens, and towels provided. It is a rare level of comfort to find in the middle of the mountains. If you would like your own space at the end of the journey, a private room upgrade is available for the final two nights at Hotel Digon.
-
If you were to get hurt, there are ways to get you down, and our wilderness guide is certified in first aid. However, if you don't think you have the fitness level to walk a full day, this is not the trip for you.
-
Vegetarian and gluten-free can be accommodated. If you are vegan, this might not work for you.
-
We recommend flying into Venice, Milan, or Munich. You can then take a high-speed train to Bolzano, and a local train to Bressanone. After Bressanone, we will gather as a group and travel to Runa Nature Retreat together.
-
Warm days and cool nights, with a chance of afternoon storms. Our guide may adjust the route for safety.
-
If the retreat does not reach its minimum group size by January 15, 2027, or is canceled by us for any reason, all payments are fully refunded. We aren't responsible for airfare or other personal travel costs.
