Best In The World
I recently watched a YouTube video about the Deuce Letui story. He was an offensive lineman for the Arizona Cardinals.
A couple of years into his career, he didn't think much of himself. He even called himself the Lindsay Lohan of offensive linemen—much potential, but wasted talent.
Through a powerful series of events, he ends up in a meeting with legendary coach Steve Hardison.
Steve asks him who he thinks the best offensive lineman in the NFL is. Deuce shies away from the answer, not even considering saying himself.
I won’t give away the punch, but Steve ends up igniting a power in Deuce that leads him to proclaim he was the best offensive lineman in the NFL.
When Deuce saw himself as the best offensive lineman in the world, his whole being changed.
He practiced differently, played differently, lived differently—results showed up on the field, but they also rippled through his life.
That one inner commitment set off a movement that inspired others to make their own.
It’s still rippling now, 15 years later, as I share his story with you.
It’s had me reflect on the question:
What am I committed to being the best in the world at?
How can I be the best husband, father, coach, teacher, and leader in the world?
“In the world” is important—not because we’ll ever be objectively the best, but because of the inner way of being it creates.
Try it on: make a commitment to be the best [insert your role] in the world.
How do you walk through your day?
How do you show up with clients?
How do you act with your kids?
How do you treat others?
It’s simple and powerful.
And this is the work I love doing with people—helping them step into that inner commitment and live from it.
Maybe for you it’s:
– The best writer in the world.
– The best meditation teacher in the world.
– The best parent in the world.
– The best I-don’t-know-and-that’s-why-I-need-a-coach in the world.
If that’s you, I can help you be that—or figure it out.
My promise is that I will show up as the best coach in the world—and remind you, like Marianne Williamson said:
“You are powerful beyond measure.”
I can help you step into that power and create a life and career that expresses your deep wellspring of love.
