In the self-improvement space, you hear a plethora of marketing that promises radical changes and “quantum leaps.”
We’re sold promises and quick fixes as if they will give us the answers we’re looking for.
I don’t discount that radical transformation can happen quickly—but is it what we should aim for?
I’ve seen examples of people achieving massive shifts only to find that they are no longer on the same trajectory a year later.
This is especially true in business.
Growing financially carries responsibility—people who have quick success often haven't developed the capacity to manage the newfound influx.
A typical example is the lottery winner who ends up broke. Like a 100-watt current going into a 50-watt bulb, it’s too much energy to handle and thus causes burnout.
While I had a massive personal transformation, business-wise, I’ve been fortunate to have no viral content or leaps in success. My entrepreneurial journey has been slow, juicy growth.
The juice metaphor represents the moments of nourishment & fulfillment that have been there each step of the way.
Steady growth has allowed me to build the physical and mental fortitude to enjoy it and to learn how to manage more responsibilities as they come.
Slow, juicy growth is what we should strive for.

Mastering habits over the years is better than pushing yourself for a few months.

The point isn’t to end the game by hitting some peak—It’s to have enough resources to continue playing.
