Dreams Do Come True
Happy New Year. Today marks my 10-year anniversary of quitting alcohol. I owe everything that transpired over the past decade to that decision.
In that time, I wrote a book, became a paid speaker, started a mindfulness education business, launched a successful coaching practice, and published hundreds of meditations that have reached millions worldwide.
In every way, I turned my dreams into reality. Although choosing to stop drinking was a catalyst for what unfolded, the bedrock of my transformation came from the first mastermind group I joined in 2014. Being around inspiring people inspired me to create the life I live now.
In the Spirit of my first group, I launched Meraki Mastermind in October 2023. I didn’t know if it would make it past its first cohort, but here we are, over a year later, and Meraki is still going strong, with some founding members still a part of it.
Meraki is like my underground club. It doesn’t even have a website, but it’s some of the most fulfilling work I do. It’s a small group of around 12 people. That curated, intimate setting is what makes it so special.
In 2025, Meraki is evolving. The first step is making the information public. A website is coming but for now, you can now see the details here: Meraki Mastermind
Also, we now have an application process.
So, what is Meraki?
In essence, it’s a support group for meditation teachers, transformational coaches, spiritual guides, healers, creators, and wellness practitioners of all types.
It stands to support those who know great work is done for its own sake.
It’s a place to find stability amidst the uncertainty of the pathless path of vocation.
It’s space to let go of needing to have it figured out and remind ourselves the work is bigger than us.
Let’s face it—starting a business is brutally hard, doubt-filled, and ambiguous.
Meraki exists so we can be in the hard together. Think of it like Business Therapy.
We get to support each other to overcome challenges so we can share our gifts with the world.
Recently, my neighbors called the police due to domestic violence. Being upfront with the pain and suffering of humanity reminded me why Meraki exists. To quote the last line of our mission statement:
“Together, we walk a path of slow, juicy growth, unlocking our soul gifts to be a ripple of love & healing in the world.”
The world needs healing. We get to commune weekly to support each other so that we can go out into the world, tend to our gardens and do our part—however seemingly small it might be.
Do you feel like you can use some support for your work in 2025?
Consider joining Meraki Mastermind.
The next cohort begins on January 22nd.

To quote one of my favorite songs, Nyepi by Nahko and Medicine for the People: "I took my chances and realized many dreams."
Dreams do come true. Risk taking and patience are the recipe for success.
Take some chances in 2025. Know that I'm rooting for you.
I can't wait for what the next decade has in store—for me, and for you. 🙏
