Your Dreams Are Bigger Than Your Fears
I met someone recently who blew me away.
I’ll spare you the context of the conversation, but the topic of life purpose came up.
They asked me, “What is your vision for your work?”
I don’t share my dreams with everyone. They feel so big that it’s a unique type of person who can hold them.
Most people project their limitations onto you.
Maybe not explicitly, but you may recall when you told someone a dream, the energy shifted, and you wish you hadn’t said so much.
What this person reflected to me was that I have those limiting judgments, too.
My response to them went something like…
Well I have this big vision of speaking in front of thousands of people, writing best-selling books, and inspiring millions around the world…
BUT I know that can seem egoic. Maybe it’s childish. I know it’s not ultimately going to make me happy, but I feel deep in my bones that I hold this potential within me.
They reflected back a conflict I have within.
On one hand, I have a vision to be on stage, expanding the limits of my potential.
However, a part that is critical of such a dream. It doesn’t want me to lose myself chasing success.
(Me and my part in conflict, credit ChatGPT.)
They suggested that the part have a voice.
If the part is seen, it gives more space for the powerful energy of my dreams.
This wasn’t a coaching session, but it felt like one.
Now I'm practicing compassion for the critical voice as it's trying to keep me safe.
I'm also feeling the energy of my big dreams and allowing it to catalyze my next stage of growth.
(If you have a similar conflict, I encourage you to do the same.)
What are your big dreams?
You may have a vision, but your critical part is so strong that your dreams are hard to access.
Or you find yourself around others who can’t hold your dreams.
I would not be able to live my dreams without the support of other people who have their own missions.
Maybe you don’t know anyone around you with the same dreams.
But know that there are others like you who have a creative vision for their life.
They may not be your family or friends, but that’s ok.
I started Meraki Mastermind as a hub for creative, mission-driven souls to gather and grow their dreams together.
If this speaks to you—if you’re holding a big dream that needs space to breathe, or if you want to be surrounded by others who get it—Meraki Mastermind might be for you.
The magic of a mastermind is the collective energy.
A rising tide lifts all ships.
You will grow your dreams simply by being in the presence of others doing the same.
