The God Note & Dad Notes
As a new father, I'm fortunate to have thoughtful, caring, and inspiring men in my corner who are a few steps ahead.
Two of those men are fellow Insight Timer teachers, Charles Freligh and Mark Guay. I wanted to use this email to highlight both of them and share some of their work.
The God Note
You may know I view creating meditations as an art. In the same way singers make songs, I make guided practices. There is no one I know who embodies the role of meditation artist more than Charles Freligh.
Watching Charles right now is watching The Beatles in the 60s. He's releasing hit course after hit course with no signs of slowing down.
His newest course, The God Note, is his most artistic expression yet.
From Charles himself:
"In this course, I gave myself a creative constraint: no use of quotes or references. If all the various traditions are talking about the same thing, I wanted to see how I might say it on my own. And what came out was a story: The God Note.
The God Note can be described as the sound of the universe, but really it's a feeling. This course was designed to give you that feeling directly through the experience of a meditative story. You could call it spiritual fiction. A story to bring you into the felt union of God and Self."
I loved getting a front row to Charles's creative process. If you want to make a great course, sometimes it's about watching how the greats do it. Charles is that.

Dad Notes
It's cool that Charles's course is tied to his role as a dad. It was inspired by a moment he shared with his son that gave him what he calls "The God feeling."
Another friend and Insight Timer teacher, Mark Guay, has a Substack called Dad Notes. As a new father, Mark is someone I've leaned on for advice and who holds fatherhood as the most sacred responsibility a person can have.
He writes Dad Notes as a modern father's field journal on raising courageous kids, reclaiming the wild within, and leading with love and legacy. If you're a dad, you'll learn a lot while reading. If you know a dad who could use support, pass it along.
Mark also has a powerful audio experience called 7 Dimensional Breathing— a simple somatic protocol for high-capacity humans who want to reduce reactivity, expand presence, and perform at their best at work and at home.

Hope you enjoy these two amazing fathers, creators, and teachers.
