I Hate My Coaching Page
Idk how it happened, but over the years, I’ve come to hate the coaching page on my website.
It's slowly evolved to a meaningless jumbling of words that I don’t feel connected to. That can be what happens when we outsource our wisdom to AI.
So over the last week, I decided to sit down and write my coaching page from my heart, speaking to those I think it could benefit. I didn’t worry about talking to the right niche or describing the transformation.
I wanted to test what would happen if I just said what I wanted to say, without the gurus in my ear.
It’s likely too broad. It’s definitely too wordy. But one thing I know for sure—it’s true. (That’s my emdash not ChatGPT.)
Before I have my wife design it for my website, I want to test it out with you.
If you’re wondering whether you should hire your first or next coach, keep reading.

First off, let me say how much I appreciate you considering me as a coach.
The crossroads you're facing can be a sensitive time, and I understand how overwhelming it can be to find the right support.
I may be that person. I may not be.
If these words resonate, I hope you consider booking a call.
What you’re facing.
Life is likely humbling you. Maybe at one point, you had things figured out and felt a sense of confidence and control.
I’m guessing you don’t feel like you have things figured out anymore.
Maybe you followed your dream with glee and naivety. You may be realizing it’s a lot harder than you imagined. This brings up doubt, fear, and uncertainty. Beautiful. I want you to know I have been through this, and it’s impossible to go at it alone. Please get support, whether that’s me or someone else.
Maybe you have a creative calling, yet haven’t given yourself permission to explore it. You see others doing things you admire, yet don’t believe it could be you. You can’t seem to get out of your own way.
The effects are having downstream symptoms. You may be riding an emotional rollercoaster, feeling “I got this” on Monday, only to find yourself curled up in tears on Tuesday.
You may not be having the best connection in your relationships.
Your spiritual life is one of constantly seeking new experiences. You are “searching” yet are never satisfied in your quest.
If that sounds like you, then you are ripe for the work I offer.
The beauty of coaching is that it’s all connected. Like a diamond that reflects light, if you feel more freedom in one area of life, it impacts another.
Tactical coaching like “Make more Money in x time by doing y” may be helpful, but it’s surface-level.
In my life, money issues are a symptom of something deeper. While I can stop the ship from sinking by hiring a business coach and getting water out of the boat, the hole in the boat remains, and in a few months, I’m back at square one.
My coaching first questions the assumption that you need to make more money. Then, from that, you see you already have everything you need. Which paradoxically will end up making you more money.
This is hard to put into words. Here’s what a recent client who came to me with a business focus said:
To explain what I do, it’s best to explain what I’m not.
I’m not a therapist. Although the work we do can feel therapeutic. I’m not here to fix or heal you. I’m here to help you feel the depth of your heart and allow your inner teacher to guide you.
I’m not a business coach. Although the work we do can support your business in magical ways. While I offer mentorship based on experience, the biggest breakthroughs I’ve had in my business didn’t come from the best funnel. It came from an inner freedom that allowed my creativity to flow and the path to unfold.
What I Am
I am your partner in devotion to life’s mystery. I believe our paths cross for a reason. I may be one of those life-partners for you, guiding you into a new awareness of what’s possible and a greater expression of your gifts.
I am an expander, helping you access more of yourself. More love, more creativity, more aliveness. You wake up energized, and that life energy propels you to know what to do. As you shift, ideas come more easily, and the outside world seems to bring you what you need.
I am a lover. Not your lover, that’s weird. I believe Love to be the greatest healer and guide there is. As our defenses drop and we access more of our hearts, we become love. Love is what your gifts are about. And as Khalil Gibran stated, “Work is Love Made Visible.”
Most often, from the ashes of doubt, a new identity emerges with mature self-belief and perseverance.
My Beliefs: Many adopted by those much wiser than me.
— Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world.
— We are all capable of much more than we imagine.
— What we don’t let ourselves feel, we will recreate.
— We each have unique gifts, Original Medicine, we came here to share.
— The world desperately needs said gifts.
— When you nurture your gifts and follow your bliss, doors will open for you where there would not be doors for anyone else.
My Experience
I’ve been a paid coach since 2019, with over 1,000 hours of 1-1 sessions under my belt.
I’ve trained extensively in different modalities, including Coach Training Institute, Aletheia, and EVRYMAN somatic coaching.
I’ve been sober from alcohol since 2015. In 2023, I began exploring plant medicines, which were very supportive. However, I’ve also seen their limitations. I’ve been part of leading retreats from Yosemite, CA, to Lake Atitlán, Guatemala.
I am a certified Somatic Breathwork practitioner. Other certifications include RYT 200 and a certified Kids Yoga & Mindfulness teacher with Little Flower Yoga. I built a business called One Mindful Education that taught mindfulness in the school systems.
I also wrote a book and am a paid public speaker. I bring my years of failure, learning, and success as a mentor for your creative journey.
My Testimonials:

"Lou is the real deal." Carlos M.
"Coaching has been one of the most liberating experiences of my life." - Karen R.
"Coaching has been so important in my growth and self-development." Fungi G.
"Hands down the best investment I've made in my coaching business." Nandi E.
Your Investment
Yes, money. I’ve paid for coaches ranging from $50 to $750/hour. I tell you this, not because it means you should pay me more, but because I get the hesitation.
Money is a fascinating topic—for some, it’s the reason to do or not do anything. This makes money our master rather than a tool.
As someone who’s worked with dozens of clients at a variety of engagements, I find that people get the most out of 90 days together, with bi-monthly sessions and unlimited WhatsApp support. You also get access to any relevant paid courses.
Investment: $1,500 (Payment plans available.)

My Influences
While I’ve been a spiritual renegade, I take most influence from the wisdom traditions of Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Indigenous lineages.
As a student of Joseph Campbell, I believe the Hero’s Journey is our Soul’s journey. Each one of us plays our part in the great overstory.
As a meditator, I appreciate the lineages that carry meditation as a pathway to self-realization. I’ve done multiple week-long silent retreats with Insight Meditation Society, spent time at a Zen monastery, and have been a student of Paramahansa Yogananda.
As a confirmed Catholic, I have reverence for the tradition of my lineage and find refuge in modern contemplative teachers such as Richard Rohr, Cynthia Bourgeault, Anthony DeMello, and James Finley, as well as legendary mystics like Thomas Merton and Saint Francis of Assisi. Francis was my confirmation name, and he has been a dear guide on my path.
Business/Creative (I see them as one) thinkers who have impacted me the most are Seth Godin, Derek Sivers, Rick Rubin, Tim Ferriss, Liz Gilbert, and David Whyte.
The work of Stephen Jenkinson, Kimberly Ann Jonshon, and Bill Plotkin has also had a huge impact on my life.
