My Biggest Addiction
I have a confession to make—I’m addicted to checking email.
I live in a fantasy world where, if I meditate enough, I will “attract” my dreams.
It manifests in the unhealthy pattern of opening my inbox and searching for a dopamine hit of validation.
Maybe…
- Someone will invite me to speak at their event.
- A dream client will ask to work with me.
- A new enrollment comes into Meditation Course Creator Academy.
Or maybe—just maybe—Oprah’s team writes:
“Lou, Oprah read Find Your Truth and wants to talk.”
While I’m all about expecting great things to happen, it’s a recipe for disappointment if left unchecked.
Because most days I open my inbox to…
- A few assistant updates
- Some calendar invites
- A tech platform I forgot I signed up for
- And a forwarded inspirational quote from my Mom (Which I know is more precious than Oprah calling.)
I often have to remind myself:
It’s up to me to create the opportunities I seek.
Yes, we need patience.
But patience doesn’t mean waiting idly.
It means planting seeds, watering them, and seeing what grows.
We have to take action.
Put ourselves out there.
Risk being seen.
Risk failure.
Meditation and prayer are amazing.
But we have to get off our cushions and into the world.
We have to meet God halfway.
So I’ll ask you:
Where are you waiting for something to happen?
Your dreams aren’t going to magically appear in your inbox.
They need your active participation.
It’s likely not the perfect time.
It will never feel right.
You'll never feel ready.
The path is laid by walking it.
This week, I hope you take action to create the opportunities you seek.
